Valwiger Herrenberg Pinot Noir – Handcrafted Elegance from the Mosel

Our Spätburgunder trocken, also known as Pinot Noir, comes from the Valwiger Herrenberg, a sun-drenched south-facing steep slope in the small village of Valwig, just a few minutes from Cochem – our family’s home for centuries. Here, on the heat-retaining reddish slate soils, elegant and expressive wines are born, marked by fine structure, clear fruit, and a hint of wild herbs.

The grapes are 100% hand-harvested, and only the very best fruit makes it into the cellar. The wine ferments and matures in used barrique barrels, developing a round, harmonious character with subtle notes of vanilla and roasted aromas – all while preserving its delicate fruit and freshness.

In the glass, this Mosel Pinot Noir shows a clear, silky texture with aromas of ripe cherry, dark berries such as cassis, and a touch of chocolate. A wine with depth but without heaviness – typical Mosel, typical craftsmanship.

For anyone who still thinks the Mosel is only about white wine – this bottle will change your mind. Our Valwiger Herrenberg Pinot Noir trocken proves that red wine also has a true home here: authentic, full of character, and made with heart.
